Danske Bank

King William Street

17,000 sq ft

Danske Bank is Denmark's leading provider of retail and wholesale banking services and one of the largest financial institutions in Europe. Celebrating its 125th anniversary in 1996.

Danske Bank London opened in 1982 and restructured in 2005. As part of that restructuring Denton were asked to replicate some of the working environment of the Copenhagen main trading floor and work with Danske's own Architect.

The design team worked very closely with Danske's team and have created timber floors to the client facing areas and trading floor combining a very open atmosphere by using full height glazing when creating the cellular space. This warm and effective space houses 40 traders with support and other functions in open plan space.

The ceiling and lighting systems were totally changed enabling Denton to enhance Danske's working environment.

A 2,000 square foot comms room was created to handle the substantial IT requirement reutilising the bank's existing fire suppression system.

Such was the commitment by Denton to the project that a number of the client team visited the Danske head office in Copenhagen to immerse themselves in the unique nature of Danske.

The project not only finished on time and within budget but also Denton assisted Danske with Landlord negotiations which resulted with a substantial sum being saved on the costs.
