Hawkpoint

Lothbury, EC2

40,000 sq ft

The Challenge

Hawkpoint were to relocate from their established headquarters building in the City. They wanted to move to a space that would give the firm room for projected growth as well as being able to recreate the definitive Hawkpoint client facing areas. Maintaining confidentiality for visiting clients was also a key requirement.

What we did

A number of buildings were shortlisted by Hawkpoint’s retained Surveyors. Denton Associates were then tasked with assessing each building in terms of best-fit, overall capital cost for the build and the ability to create a high class client facing suite.

Denton undertook a complete audit of Hawkpoints existing working practices and developed a spatial template from which each potential building was assessed and planned to understand best fit. The shortlisted buildings were planned to a level of detail that allowed accurate budgets to be developed as well as assessments of suitability for the client facing areas.

The finally selected building was 41, Lothbury in The City of London close to the Bank of England. The space was set over two floors totalling 40,000 sqft, with the front portion of the existing interior being listed by English Heritage. This space formed a perfect backdrop for the client suite.

A detailed design process was subsequently conducted by Denton’s which encompassed audits of all existing furniture and a detailed design package for the new building. This was conducted on a room by room basis for the client facing areas, with every room being visualised by the Designers. Designs for all associated air conditioning, electrical and data systems were also completed.

Full aesthetic design schemes were presented and costed - allowing specification and costs to be signed off before site works commenced. Denton Associates conducted the fitting out project over 21 weeks, which included the installation of a new elliptical staircase linking the two floors.

Feedback

The project has received extremely positive feedback from both staff and visitors alike, with fervent accolade for the client meeting rooms which now house Hawkpoint’s collection of artwork and antiques.
